To create a powerful movement, connecting moms from all over the United States and Canada, for the purpose of raising money (at least $5 Million US dollars) for leading charitable organizations dedicated to supporting moms/women/families globally, in hopes of making a difference.
About the MMPP
The “Million Mom Picture Page” is a monumental movement for mothers. It was created to allow moms, to have a virtual place to support their favorite cause(s) from the comforts of their home. In efforts to raise over $5 Million for charitable organizations, the Million Mom Picture Page is utilizing 1 million pixels, broken down into 10,000 boxes on its site (“pixel”= a single point in a graphic image; short for picture element, using the common abbreviation “pix” for “picture”). Each box will contain 100 pixels (or 100 picture profiles). We will use the image of the first “Mother”- Mother Earth, as the image for the backdrop. For just a modest donation ($5 minimum), each donor is given 1 picture profile where they can upload fun facts and a photo. As participants continue to join in the virtual march, the moms’ images will gradually shed light upon the earth, and have it glow with radiance. Thus creating an immense visual-virtual march of 1 million moms that will truly make herstory!
In addition, every donating mom will receive a FREE ConnectingMoms.com membership. ConnectingMoms.com is a premiere social networking site created by moms, for moms. Moms will be able to connect with thousands of moms from all over the United States and Canada, and can enjoy free products to review!
We are honored to have partnered with the Network for Good (N.F.G), the Internet's leading charitable resource, bringing together donors, volunteers and charities online to accomplish good. Using our secure site (credit card information will not be stored or shared on this website), N.F.G. will collect all donations from the Million Mom Picture Page and distribute them directly to the official charities; making this a 100%* pass-through charity event.
The Million Mom Picture Page has chosen some of the most recognized, non-political, charitable organizations that are truly dedicated to helping moms/women/families with issues and challenges. Although we wish we could choose thousands of Non-Profit Organizations, due to spatial limitations, we have chosen recognized, established organizations such as: The National Breast Cancer Foundation, March of Dimes, Make-A-wish Foundation, MADD and Autism Speaks.
In effort to also include smaller organizations that mothers online heavily support, we have included these as well: Petra Nemcova’s, “Happy Hearts Fund” dedicated to advocate and provide for disadvantaged youngsters who have had to endure hardship and who are not receiving the essential and sustainable help they need for healthy childhood development; and the Kyle David Miller Foundation which was created to honor Kyle David Miller, who was killed tragically at the age of 3 due to improper installation of his car seat, and to promote driver and car seat safety awareness – please take a moment to view his powerful tribute video: Click here to watch Kyle's video on YouTube.com.
How to March
- Click the “Join Now” tab on toolbar at the top of the page.
- Register your contact information to secure your spot on Mother Earth (don’t worry, we will not distribute this information to others).
- Choose the charity you would like to make a donation to.
- Input your information, credit card information, and donation amount ($5 minimum) onto our secure site (credit card information will not be stored or shared on the website).
- View your new profile on the Mother Earth image.
- Wear the many badges representing the MMPP event on sites you are associated with. Just copy the html text and paste on your websites, personal profiles, blogs, etc.
- Share your profile and the MMPP with others by clicking on the “Spread the Word” tab on the toolbar, and send others an invite to join you.
- As participants continue to join in the virtual march, the mom's images will shed light upon the earth, and have it glow with radiance!
About Us
The Million Mom Picture Page was conceived by the founders of ConnectingMoms, LLC (www.connectingmoms.com), a premiere social networking site for moms of all ages and stages of motherhood to connect. 3. Are you genuine or is this a joke?
- We are 100% genuine and very interested in connecting moms from all over the United States and Canada because we believe that it truly "takes a village to raise a child". We are the founders of ConnectingMoms, and aspire to create a project that can take our mission statement to the ultimate level, by giving back to mom/women/family charitable organizations. We believe in the power of the Internet and word-of mouth viral campaigns. We strive to bring moms/women/families together through our virtual march (the Million Mom Picture Page) while also bringing awareness to the charities and organizations they are passionate about.
4. What will you do with the money?
- Our goal is to raise and donate over five million dollars (US$5,000.000) to the charitable organizations chosen by our 1 million moms participants.
- We anticipate each mom participant to donate more then $5 per picture; therefore we may in fact raise more then $5,000,000.
- We have partnered with the Internet's leading non-profit charitable resource, Network for Good (N.F.G), to collect 100% of all the donations. N.F.G. will donate 100%* of the donations to the charities selected by our moms. *References that N.F.G. will have to deduct any transaction costs that the merchant account charges for the credit card purchase ONLY.
5. How will you divide the money among the selected charitable organizations?
- When a mom registers to join the march, she will be given a box to choose one charitable organization from our list.
- Once she selects a given charity - she will be promptly sent to N.F.G.'s check out page designated for that particular charity of choice. Once the donation has been made, we will be notified in real-time, and the moms picture will be uploaded to www.millionmompicturepage.com.
6. Why should I participate in the Million Mom Picture Page?
- To be a part of herstory! You will have an image of yourself or a loved one who is a mom, including name, location, quote and charity of choice, to be seen by over millions of people over the world, and will be giving to a mom/woman/family charitable organization! So you really could own a piece of mom Internet herstory!
7. How do I choose which charitable organization? Can I change once I've chosen?
- After you sign up to www.millionmompicturepage.com, you will be given a box to choose one charitable organization from our list.
- We would love to have each mom choose their own individual charitable organization; however, given the diversity of moms, and our mission statement, we chose the top 10 best recognized non-political, charitable organizations that are truly dedicated to helping moms/women/families with issues and problems they face on a daily basis.
- Due to the overwhelming amount of programming necessary to create a truly well run site, we ask that you take your time to choose your charitable organization of choice. Once you have donated, it is set.
8. What do the sponsors contribute?
- Our Sponsors will each donate an amount of money to one or all of the charitable organizations listed, at a minimum amount of $100 to each.
- Our Sponsors will help the site pay for the hosting, business expenses and other expenses incurred by the site to manage the program.
9. How long will your photo and the site be online?
We have paid for online hosting for 5 years and will try to keep the site up as long as the demand is alive. We plan on continuing to raise money for charitable organizations dedicated to moms/women/families for as long as the demand is there. Once we fill up 1 million pictures, we will start the second "Million Mom Picture Page" site and so on!
10. Am I able to choose the location for my photo the Million Mom Picture Page?
All images and profiles will be automatically, randomly placed, on the Million Mom Picture Page image, without any relation to your specified location.
11. How will my donation be distributed to my charity/organization/foundation of choice?
The Million Mom Picture Page is a 100%* pass-through charity event; therefore, 100%* of your donation will go directly to Network For Good which in turn will send the donation to the charity/organization you choose.
12. How do I show others my image on the MMPP, or tell others about this event?
Please share your image and this monumental event with others through our "Spread the Word" button.
13. Who can view photos on the MMPP?
Like any march, the goal is to raise awareness to a cause(s), and the people supporting the event. Therefore, anyone with access to the internet can view.
14. What if my charity/organization/foundation of choice is not listed?
The founders of the MMPP have chosen some of the best-recognized non-political, charitable organizations that are truly dedicated to helping moms/women/families with issues and challenges. If you still do not see your charity/organization/foundation of choice listed, stay tuned and let us know; because we hope the success of this event will spark many more to come.
15. How do I change my photo or information for my profile (i.e. name, hometown, etc)?
You can change the image, name and state once submitted. Just simply, log in to your page, and you will be able to edit your personal information. However, you may not change the charitable organization.
16. Can I donate to more than one charity/organization/foundation?
The maximum purchase is one (1) picture and one (1) charity/organization/foundation per email address; however, you can donate as much as you desire to the individual charitable organization of choice. Due to the overwhelming amount of programming necessary to create a truly well run site, we ask that you take your time to choose your charitable organization. Once you have donated, it is set.
You can donate to any of the charities listed on the Million Mom Picture Page’s “Charities” section. Just click on the “Charities” tab on the toolbar to further donate to other charities through the charity's main website (please note that you will not receive any additional picture pixels for secondary donations).
17. Will my donation(s) be tax deductible?
Yes. Please visit the Network For Good for all tax information relating to your donation.
18. How many pixels am I allowed to purchase?
The maximum purchase is one (1) picture per email address; however, you can donate as much as you desire to the individual charitable organization.
19. Can I upload images/ photos of someone other than a mom?
Please see our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. In addition, no company/corporate logos are accepted.
20. What if I do not see my image on the MMPP after I've uploaded it?
Please allow up to 5 minutes before searching in the "find moms" section or logging into your account. If you do not see your image after logging in, please contact us.
21. I think my image was rejected, what do I do?
Please review our guidelines in our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. If you still believe that your image was rejected, please contact us.
22. Can I join the Million Mom Picture Page if I live outside of the U.S. and Canada?
At this time the Network For Good is only able to register credit transactions from U.S. and Canada residents.
23. Now that I'm a member of the MMPP, am I also a member of ConnectingMoms.com?
Yes! As a participant in the MMPP, you also receive a free membership to ConnectingMoms.com, the premiere social community for moms. Check it out today and find other MMPP supporters. Begin to share, support, empower and connect with other moms. Find like-minded moms near and far, share tips and advice, or just enjoy the fun and friendly community!
